We are here for you during this difficult time
Not every pet passes away peacefully in their sleep. Sometimes we have to make that difficult decision.
The loss of a pet can be very traumatic to a family or an individual and often people feel foolish for getting upset at their passing. It is easy to forget what an important part pets play in our lives, and for some they are their only companion.
Often if death is a shock, the pain we feel can be the same as losing a human family member. Even death after a long illness can be unbearable, as we become accustomed to caring for their every need. Our staff at Three Rivers will help you the best they can. We can offer appointments at the begining of the surgery to prevent you waiting too long.
We have our own crematorium at the Beccles Practice and so if you decide not to take your pet home for burial we can offer communal or private cremations. If you choose private cremation we offer a selection of caskets and scatter tubes for your pets ashes to be returned in.
If you decide to bury your pet at home, it can sometimes help to pick a special quiet spot in the garden. Putting a Plant or memorial stone in the place can help people to grieve and remember their pet.
If you decide a communal cremation is the best option for you a memorial site in your garden can help you come to terms with the situation.
Remember sadness and grieving are normal human emotions. Everyone experiences them at some point in their life. Don’t be afraid to let people know how you feel, you’d be surprised how much support is out there! If there is a particular member of staff that you would feel comfortable talking to please contact the surgery or alternatively you could contact Pet Bereavement Services on 0800 0966606
